Dr Joanna McMillan
Dr Joanna McMillan is a registered nutritionist and dietitian with a PhD in nutritional science from the University of Sydney. She is also a trained ļ¬tness leader and taught group exercise classes for almost 15 years. Joanna is a popular media spokesperson and is a Nine Network regular - principally as the resident nutrition expert for Today, with frequent appearances on A Current Affair and Nine news. She writes a weekly column for Sunday Life, is the nutrition expert for several ACP magazines, is a contributor to Body & Soul and is a regular guest on Australian radio. Joanna has authored a number of books including the internationally published The Low GI Diet and The Low GI Diet Cookbook (Hachette Livre), Star Foods (ABC Books) and Inner Health Outer Beauty (Random House). The latter book won ‘Best Health, Nutrition or Diet-Related Book’ at the 2010 Food Media Awards. Joanna is an accomplished presenter and lecturer and was awarded the 2006 Presenter of the Year award by the Australian Fitness Network. She is a sought after speaker at both public and industry events in Australian and the UK. She operates a nutrition consultancy in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

Dr Libby Weaver (Ph.D) - Holistic Nutrition Specialist
Born and educated in Australia, Dr Libby Weaver (PhD) studied at the University of Newcastle from 1993 until 2006. She completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) with Honours in 1998 and went on to complete a PhD in Biochemistry, examining biochemical and nutritional factors affecting children with autism. Through this work Libby came to better understand and communicate the relationship between the food we eat, our thoughts and beliefs, and the way our body shape and size then expands or shrinks.
Since 1999, Dr Libby has been working with individual patients from all walks of life, from stay-at-home-mums to Hollywood stars. She set up and ran an organic café and she has been an integral person in the setup of two health retreats where she not only designed the nutritional philosophies, but also performed the role of Program Director. Dr Libby continues to work closely with the media and is regularly called upon for nutritional comments and to communicate complex messages, simply.
Dr Libby moved to New Zealand in 2007 to be with her now husband Chris, since which time they have created a Holistic Nutrition Consultancy which provides individual consultations as well as empowering, informative seminars, retreats and media work. Dr Libby is a regular columnist for multiple magazines including Next Magazine, Good Health Magazine, Taste Magazine and Fitness Life, and she is a passionate and sought after international keynote speaker. Dr Chris Boalch - Director – Strategic Initiatives, New Zealand Trade & Enterprise
Dr Chris Boalch was born and educated in the UK, where he studied Environmental Science and completed a PhD at Dundee University, Scotland. He has extensive experience in the area of technology transfer and commercialisation of research. His early career was spent in geophysics and science programme management with the UK Natural Environment Research Council. Chris has subsequently held senior positions with the British National Space Centre, working on a number of international satellite technology and application programmes; with the UK Department of Trade and Industry; and with QinetiQ, Europe's largest commercial R &D organisation. Chris moved to New Zealand with his family in 2003 where he joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Prior to taking on the role of Director Strategic Initiatives, Chris held the position of Sector Director Biotechnology. Chris has also held acting positions as Director Investment New Zealand and Director East Americas.

Robert S. Lawrence (MD), The Center for a Livable Future Professor in Environmental Health Sciences.
Robert Lawrence is the Center for a Livable Future Professor and Professor of Environmental Health Sciences, Health Policy, and International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Lawrence is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, and trained in internal medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He served for three years as an epidemic intelligence service officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Public Health Service. He joined the Hopkins faculty in 1995 and established the Center for a Livable Future in 1996 with the goal of supporting research, educational programs, and advocacy for improving food systems.
